Carlyn Stark

A lifelong boater and the first donor to the Northwest Maritime Center project while on the WBF board in 1995, Carlyn contributes in multiple ways to WBF and NWMC. Respected regionally for her role in bringing the 100 year old Schooner Martha from California to Puget Sound, she is also well known for her decades of work with Four Winds Camp on Orcas Island. Her namesake boat, the Carlyn, sails throughout the sound as an integral part of youth maritime education programs.

Ted Pike

With more than a decade of service to WBF and NWMC Boards, Ted's priority is to keep youth sailing on Port Townsend Bay. He represents the WBF across the US in his job as the wooden boat specialist for Edensaw Woods. Ted and wife, Kate has been working with youth and boats for over thirty years. They own, race and charter their 1956 Lapworth racing sloop, Annie Too.

Carol Hasse

Author, teacher, one of the original festival organizers and the longest serving board member in the history of the WBF, Carol has donated decades of time to her love of wooden boats. She serves as a judge at the Classic Victorian Wooden Boat Festival annually. Her company, Hasse & Company Port Townsend Sails (founded 1978) produces the top-rated cruising sails in the US. She owns and sails Lorraine, a 1959 Danish built Folkboat with her partner and two sons.

Bryan Wentzel

A shipwright and co-owner of Freyja Boatworks in Port Townsend, Bryan is also a father of two, graduate of the NW School of Wooden Boatbuilding and an accomplished open water paddler. His maritime skills include expertise in marlinspike arts and seamanship.

Stephen E. Oliver

President of Platt Irwin Taylor www.plattirwintaylor.com, the largest law firm on the Olympic Peninsula, Stephen’s contributions play an important role on the reorganized WBF. He served on the By Law committee of NWMC during the integration of 2005/6 and continues to serve on both boards. He has served as general counsel to the Port of Port Angeles for more than 25 years and as general counsel to First Federal Savings & Loan Association for 15 years. He and wife Kelley are owners of the 1978 wooden Bill Garden ketch, Blackbeard II which they cruised to Mexico and back in 2005/6.
