33rd Annual Wooden Boat Festival
Race Report25 boats entered the 26' and under race on Friday. The course was twice around a 1.66 nm triangle with a NNW breeze around 8 knots. 5 of the first 6 finishers were T-birds. The first boat across the line was Dorado almost 10 minutes ahead of the second boat, Tzieu followed a minute later by Coco Solo. A Bristol Bay Cutter, Hookum, placed 5th with an impressive performance for their speed.
The winds were stronger, 10-14kts, for the Schooner race on Saturday. 18 boats entered but only 7 finished the 6.41 nm course within the two hour limit. Again, Martha was the winner, with Lucky Star second and Barlovento third.
Next year these races will probably be divided into two classes with the T-birds and larger Schooners having their own starts.
