Programs and Events

Programs are the heart and soul of the missions of both Northwest Maritime Center & Wooden Boat Foundation.  WBF raises funds through the annual Wooden Boat Festival to support youth and adult sailing programs at the NWMC, as well as provide support to scholarships at related organizations (Port Townsend Marine Trades), for regattas, boat maintenance and community gatherings in our facilities.

Registration and complete information for 2010 Programs at NWMC can be found on their website.

Choose from Longboat programs (for school groups or adult team building or expeditions); family boatbuilding; Messin About Sea Camps (for 5-9 year olds); Learn to Sail classes for youth (starting at 8 yrs) through adult in dinghies, keelboats and sail training vessels; boatbuilding experiences (volunteer or join one of the partner programs with Redfish Kayak, Pygmy Kayaks or Chesapeake Lightcraft) or attend workshops and seminars in all range of maritime topics from knot tying to rigging and sails to Captains License courses. You can also find out about Charters and Tours in Port Townsend!
